The Libertarian Party of Maryland’s 2014 Convention starts today at 1:00 at Squires Italian Restaurant.  If you have not registered yet, you can do so at the door.  If you need directions to Squires, they’re here.

The schedule for today’s proceedings is as follows:

12:30 pm Registration and sandwiches
1:30 pm Michael Cloud, Libertarian Promoter
2:30 pm Wes Benedict, LP Executive Director
3:30 pm Arvin Vohra, LP Social Media
4:30 pm State Central Committee Meeting

7:00 pm Dinner Banquet: Lasagna, Baked chicken, Green beans, Parsley potatoes, Salad, Dessert, Coffee, tea, soft drinks
7:30 pm Featured speaker: Sharon Harris, President Advocates for Self-Government
9:00 pm Adjournment

If you’ve never been to a Convention, you may be wondering exactly what we do there—particularly that stretch between 4:30 and 7:00 that’s rather ominously labeled “Meeting.”  Well, that’s when we take up such matters as:

If your party dues are paid up, you’re eligible to vote.  (Check the mailing label on your last copy of the Free State Libertarian to make sure.)

If you are a Central Committee member, and you can’t make the meeting but you would like to delegate a proxy, there is still time.  Simply sign and date a statement designating another member of the
Central Committee as your agent, and granting that agent the power to vote for you in the Central Committee.  Give the written proxy to your designated agent so he can present it to the Credentials Committee upon arrival.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible in just a few hours!
