In addition, several potential candidates have filed Declarations Of Intent with the Board Of Elections to get on the general election ballot in November as Libertarians:
- Leo Dymowski – Attorney General
- Steven Haddox – US House 8th
- Ron Owens-Bey – House Of Delegates 45th
- Dave Sgambellone – Anne Arundel County Council District 2
- Peggy O’Donnell – Calvert County Commissioners
These potential candidates must obtain the nomination of the party at a Central Committee meeting. Several meetings will be held prior to the filing deadline. All remaining filing documents and filing fees are due by August 4.
Some members had let me know that they were unable to register as “Libertarian” at MVA locations in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties. I brought this to the attention of the state Board Of Elections, and they said the matter has now been rectified. If anyone has a problem registering to vote as Libertarian, please let me know.
Be sure to check out the LP Maryland and Young Libertarians of Maryland Facebook pages.
Sincerely,
Bob Johnston
Chairman
